A Police Week Open House is planned in Hastings from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Hastings Police Department.

Visit with Hastings Police Department members, tour equipment and learn about public safety during Police Week. The event will include police equipment, fire equipment, SWAT equipment and a number of community resource tables. Hotdogs and chips will be provided, and the department will announce the winner of the Food 4 Kids 'Sound the Siren' event. 

The crowd will either see Sheriff Leko or Chief Wilske take a pie to the face.

Attendees will include:

  • Hastings Police Department
  • Hastings Fire Department and EMS
  • Dakota County Sheriff’s Office’s Parks, Lakes and Trails
  • Dakota County Sheriff’s Office’s drone team
  • South Metro SWAT
  • Hastings Police Department’s K9
  • Hastings Public Safety Advisory Commission members
