Two Hastings residents were inducted into the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame Friday night for their contributions to the sport of softball. Tom Niederkorn and Walt Nelson (posthumously) were inducted as players for Loesch's men's fastpitch softball team.

Niederkorn, who attended the ceremony, joined Nelson and a class of 17 other men from all around the state at the 30th annual banquet. The ceremony honors inductees in the player, manager, umpire, sponsor, promoter, administrator, organizer, volunteer and media categories.

There will be reception at the Bierstube in Hastings on Nov. 18 from 2-4 p.m. for people to stop by if they were unable to make the banquet.
