The Hastings Raiders boys' and girls' soccer teams both traveled to North St. Paul on Wednesday for matches that had drastically different results. The Hastings girls won in a 9-0 blowout of the Polars, but the Raider boys fell with an equally lopsided score of 8-0.

The Raider girls are now 3-8-2 this fall and 2-2-2 in the Metro East Conference. They next host Burnsville on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Hastings boys are 3-9-1 and 2-3-1 in the MEC. They go to St. Thomas Academy next Tuesday.

Six different girls scored goals in the 9-0 win over North St. Paul and a total of seven players had points. Seniors Lauren Hubbart, Bella Meier and Megan Brown each scored two goals while senior Ashlyn Endres, junior Ella Thorkelson and sophomore Abbigail Pelava each had one apiece. Meier added three assists and Hubbart plus junior Cianna Bernard both had one.

In the boys' loss, North St. Paul scored four goals in the first half and four in the second. Emiliano Esquivel had a hat trick for the Polars.
