The Hastings Raiders boys' and girls' soccer teams both opened up their 2021 seasons at home on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Todd Field. The Raider boys went first against Richfield, followed by the girls who faced off against Bloomington Jefferson.

It was not the best start to the season for either team as both teams lost. The boys fell 5-0 to the Spartans after giving up two goals in the first half and three in the second. Meanwhile, the girls lost 4-1 after falling behind 3-0 early in the second half.

Both teams are on the road on Saturday. The Raider girls make the short trip up Highway 61 to face rival Park while the Hastings boys go to Owatonna.

Next week, the girls host Farmington on Tuesday, then are on the road in Duluth Thursday and Friday against Duluth Denfeld and Duluth East. The boys going to Apple Valley on Tuesday and host Park on Saturday.
