Hastings Just for Kix competes in two competitions
Hastings area dancers have competed at two Just For Kix Together We Dance Competitions so far this year. On January 27, the Hastings Just For Kix Teams competed in the Together We Dance Competition in Rochester at the Rochester Community and Technical College and on February 25 at the Eastview High School in Apple Valley.
The Mini Kix team, performing to the song "Runaway", received first place in Rochester and third place at Eastview. The Mini Jazz team performed to the song "Girls" and took first in Rochester.
The Mini Hip-Hop team performed to the song "Rotten to the Core" and they received third-place in Rochester. The Wee Kix team performed to the song "Fame" and took first at Eastview. The Middle Kix team performed to the song "If I Had You" and placed first at Eastview.
The Hastings Just For Kix program is in its seventh year of performance and includes local area students grades Pre-K to 12th grade. The Just For Kix local director is Tori Ibinger. Her assistants are Maggie Corum and Amanda Dauwen.
Just For Kix is a national leader in dance instruction and is committed to youth advancement through performance. Based out of Brainerd, Minn., the organization has over 21,000 dancers in more than 200 locations nationwide. Annually, the company provides multiple Together We Dance competitive opportunities for affiliated dance team programs to compete. Coming together to compete provides an opportunity for teamwork and promotes excellence.
