Raiders boys' basketball wins two conference games to improve to .500

The Hastings boys' basketball team was able to right the ship last week after losing three games in a row. The Raiders traveled to Hill-Murray on Tuesday, Jan. 10, where they won by 21 points, 78-57. They then hosted Simley on Friday and beat the Spartans in a close one, 64-63. Hastings is now 6-6 overall on the season and 2-1 in the Metro East Conference.

The Raiders blew out the Hill-Murray Pioneers in the second half after only leading 41-37 at halftime. Hastings was led by junior Sawyer Levos who had a breakout performance with 30 points. The Raiders had 10 players score overall with Jacob Brake adding 13, Nathaniel Wiese eight, Colin Kummer seven, Logan Nelson six, Jacob Brown four, while Brandon Haraldson and Sullivan Levos each had three. Levi Zak and Grant Hollar both contributed two points.

No stats were available at the time of printing for the Jan. 13 Hastings versus Simley game.

The Raiders traveled to North St. Paul on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and then are at Tartan on Friday, Jan. 20.
