Dayton orders flags at half-staff for 9/11 anniversary
ST. PAUL -- In observance of the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered all United States flags and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday..
As a mark of respect for the victims of this tragedy, Dayton has proclaimed Tuesday to be “Patriot Day and A Day of Service and Remembrance” in Minnesota. In solidarity with the rest of the nation, he encourages all Minnesotans to observe a moment of silence at 7:46 a.m. to honor the nearly 3,000 victims of the attacks.
The Interstate 35W Bridge in Minneapolis will be lit red, white and blue on Tuesday night, in observance of the anniversary.
