Mike Forbord to serve as vice chair

The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board has elected Vance Boelter as chair and Mike Forbord as vice chair.

Boelter, director of operations for 7–11 in Cottage Grove, said the board’s work is critical to businesses and residents in Dakota and Scott counties.

“These are unprecedented times we are living in, and everyone needs to step up more than ever before to get through this together,” Boelter said.

Forbord, director of operations for Schmitty and Sons in Lakeville, said the board can help employers.

“It is incredibly important to give back to the community, and I look forward to the ability to positively represent local businesses within Dakota and Scott counties,” Forbord said.

The board oversees employment programs within Dakota and Scott counties, including at CareerForce Centers in Burnsville, West St. Paul and Shakopee. The board’s 27 members represent the public and private sectors.
