Two teens were injured in a knife fight in Hastings on Wednesday, March 1, according to Hastings police.
Just before 2 p.m. officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Amelia Avenue in Hastings.
According to Police Chief David Wilske, both the victim and suspect were at the scene, and both were injured.
The chief said the two males were related and the knife had been taken from the suspect. Arriving officers found a 16-year-old and a 19-year-old, both with lacerations from the knife.
The 16-year-old had lacerations to his hands and the 19-year-old had numerous lacerations and punctures to his upper torso, Wilske said.
The Hastings Fire Department transported both to the hospital for care and their current condition is unknown.
The Hastings Police Department continues to investigate, according to Wilske, adding there are no public safety concerns at this time.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Burnsville Police Department assisted with processing the crime scene.
