A two-vehicle crash on Highway 316 near the area of Bauer Circle on Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2019, resulted in life-threatening injuries for a 20-year-old woman from Cottage Grove, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. 

According to the incident report, Kaitlyn Nielsen was traveling south on Highway 316 when her 2011 Ford Taurus crossed the center line and made contact with a Ford F-150 driven by Timothy Hovseth, 58, of Hastings, who was traveling north.

Hovseth suffered non-life threatening injuries according to the report and was sent to Regina Hospital in Hastings. Nielsen was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Dakota County Sheriff's Office and Hastings Police Department responded to the crash.
