Citations

On March 21, officers responded to the 3000 block of Vermillion Street for a garbage dumping report. After investigation, David Kenah, age 32 of Hastings, was cited for unlawful deposit of garbage.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of 11th Street West regarding a report of an assault on March 24. In the report, a citation was listed as the disposition, and the incident is still under investigation, and no perpetrator was identified.

On March 25, officers responded to a disturbance near the 500 block of Westview. Whipps, Alan Douglas, age 42 of Hastings, was cited for disorderly conduct.

Arrests/Taken into Custody

Samantha M. Anderson, age 30 of Rochester, was located by officers on Meggan Drive on March 20 and was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

On March 20, officers responded to the 2900 block of Vermillion Street for a warrant call. After investigation, Allison Nicole Lee, age 22 of Hastings, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Officers were dispatched to assist the Cottage Grove Police Department in regards to a potential stolen vehicle driven into Hastings on March 20. Caleb Christopher Perry, age 22 of Hastings, was taken into custody by the lead agency.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of General Sieben Drive in regards to an in-progress theft. After an investigation, Derefeal D. Barnett, age 36 of Des Moines, was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting. 

An officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Maple Street near 17th Street West on March 24. Casey Edwards, age 43 of Hastings, was taken into custody for 2nd degree driving while intoxicated and driving after cancellation.

On March 24, an officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of South Frontage Road for a report of a domestic assault. A juvenile was arrested and brought to the Juvenile Services Center. 

An officer conducted a traffic stop near Highway 61 and Spiral View Loop on March 24. Thao, Yu Xang, age 36 of Saint Paul, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

On March 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop near the 600 block of 10th Street E. After investigation, the passenger, Jesse Grant Bailey Seals, age 34 of Saint Paul, was arrested for a misdemeanor Scott County warrant for violation of a domestic abuse no contact order.

On March 25, an officer initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of 23rd Street West. The driver, Megan Nestingen, age 26 of Hastings, was taken into custody for 4th degree driving while intoxicated.

Michael Scott Leske, age 32 of Saint Paul, was arrested on March 26 for an outstanding Ramsey County warrant. Officers made the arrest after responding to the 1700 block of North Frontage Road for a report of a suspicious incident.

Hit and Run

Officers responded to the 300 block of 3rd Street W. for a hit and run accident on March 22. There was no vehicle or information about the suspect available.

On March 23, officers responded to a possible hit and run crash in the 200 block of 33rd Street W. 

Officers responded to a hit and run report on the 2400 block of Vermillion Street on March 25. An unknown vehicle struck the caller’s vehicle in a parking lot. The case’s disposition status is inactive.

On March 26, officers received a report of an after-the-fact hit and run. Officers located the vehicle that had left the scene and were able to assist parties in exchanging information. No citations were issued.

Assault 

On March 20, officers responded to the 200 block of General Sieben Drive regarding a report of an assault. According to the report’s disposition, the case is inactive.

Officers took a report related to an assault which occurred in the 1000 block of 10th Street West on March 22. The case is under investigation.

On March 22, officers responded to the 1000 block of 11th Street West regarding a report of an assault. The case is under investigation. 

Officers responded to the 1000 block of 11th Street West regarding a report of an assault. The case is under investigation.  

Theft

Officers responded to a phone call report regarding a past action theft which occurred in the 200 block of 2nd Street East on March 20. The case is currently under investigation.

On March 31, officers responded to a phone call report regarding a possible identity theft in the 10 block of 27th Street East. There is no suspect information and there was no financial loss reported. 

On March 21, officers took a theft report over the phone. After an investigation, the owner of the stolen item got their property back.

On March 26, officers responded to a theft report in the 100 block of Sibley Street. After an investigation, Rachel Elizabeth Feider, age 38 of Hastings, and Brandon Lee Hall, age 33 of Hastings, are to be charged with misdemeanor theft.

Property Damage

Officers were dispatched to an accident involving property damage at 14th Street W. and Lyn Way on March 20. The accident didn’t result in any injuries.

On March 23, officers received an after-the-fact damage to property report along Glenlou Way where a window was shot by a BB gun. There are currently no suspects. 

Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Frontage Road for a motor vehicle accident on March 25. Information was exchanged and the incident occurred on private property. 

On March 25, officers responded to the 600 block of 1st Street East for a driving complaint. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the suspect caused damage to a property. The case is currently under investigation, and there is information available about the suspect.

Sudden Deaths/Bodies Found

On March 25, a body was discovered near 18th Street West and an investigation into the death was launched. According to the case's disposition, a follow-up will be had with the sergeant.
