Voting Booth

Now that the busy Halloween weekend is over, here are some important reminders for the upcoming week.

Election Day

Hastings’s residence will have a chance to election three members to the Hastings School Board on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Kelsey Waits and Scott Gergen are running for re-election, with Tashina Miller, Mike Reis, Carrie Tate and Jessica Dressely running for their spot on the board.

Hastings residents can find their polling place using Minnesota’s Secretary of State website.

Pumpkin Drop off

The City of Hastings and Dakota County are holding a free Pumpkin Drop Off beginning Friday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. The drop off will be held at the Dakota County Transportation Shop, 900 Country Road 47, Hastings.

Residents are asked to please remove paint, candles, wax or other non-organic material from their pumpkins prior to bringing them to the drop off.  Composting pumpkins keeps waste out of landfills, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and creates a natural fertilizer for our soils.
