The Hampton community will be hosting a Froeliches Day September 25 at Water and Main Streets in downtown Hampton from 2-10 p.m.
The word "froeliches" is a German word meaning "happy" and we're having a Happy get together.  Hampton was originally settled mainly by German immigrants and most likely brought some Happy with them.
Activities include a BBQ rib cookoff. For cookoff information, rules and signup, contact tcgray88@yahoo.com or Matt@ButterandSpiceCo.com.  There will also be adult games all day/evening.
Kids games and activities from 2-5 p.m., demonstrations from the Dakota County Sheriff Department and Hampton-Randolph Fire Department and First Responders.
Food will be available, DJ Crazy Craig Croakee will be there and there will be a street dance with the band the Coxmen.
Proceeds will benefit the Hampton-Randolph Fire Department, Hampton City parks and other community events and programs.
