Now that the trees are turning their bright yellow and red colors, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the autumn season by checking out these fall and Halloween events.

Apple Festival

When: Oct. 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center

Carpenter Nature Center’s annual Apple Festival will feature pick-your-own apples, cider-making demonstrations, live music, live animal programs, children's activities and more.

When: Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Hastings Community Education — 310 River St., Hastings

Hastings Community Education’s Fall Fest will be filled with family activities.

Hastings Halloween Party

Hastings Community Halloween Party

When: Friday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Where: Hastings High School

Cost: Non-perishable food donation or cash/check donation to Youth Impact Council Scholarship

Hastings Community Halloween Party will have activity stations from local businesses and a costume contest.

Mother Nature's Learning Center Trunk or treat poster

Trunk or Treat

When: Friday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Mother Nature’s Learning Center — 1355 South Frontage Road, Hastings

Mother Nature’s Learning Center in Hastings is having its free annual Truck or Treat event. Families are encouraged to show up in their Halloween costumes and get some goodies.

Drive-through Trick or Treat

When: Sunday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 5:30 p.m.

Where: Oak Ridge Assisted Living Parking Lot — 1128 Bahls Drive, Hastings

Residents of Oak Ridge Assisted Living will be passing out candy to trick-or-treaters this year. Folks who want to trick or treat can either stay in their cars and wave or park and walk around with their family.

Fall Festival on the Farm

When: Saturday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Where: Tharp Farm —14171 Jacob Ave. Hastings

Tharp Farm’s Fall Festival will have hayrides, pumpkin painting and carving, yard games and plenty of family-friendly fun.

The event will also have free food for guests.

Festival of Frights

When: Saturday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: First Draft Farms — 37272 20th Ave. Dennison, Minn.

First Draft Farm in Dennison is hosting “Festival of Frights”, a family-friendly event that includes haunted wagon rides, skeleton dog demonstrations, trick or treating, yarn spinning demonstrations and a bone fire.
