Edmundson named May Rotary Student of the Month
Hastings High School senior Alexis Edmundson has been selected as the Hastings Rotary Student of the Month for May.
Edmundson was nominated by Keri Cotton, Jody Geib and Kim Hoff.
From Cotton: "Alexis started the Red Cross Club at Hastings High School and has been instrumental in its success for the past two years. They are an invaluable help with CPR and STOP THE BLEED training for our 10th graders, and they have organized numerous fundraising and charity drives to help serve community needs. She has also volunteered at Pleasant Hill Library, Christa McAuliffe Elementary School, Hastings Civic Arena, Red Cross of Minnesota, Black Dirt Theater, Special Olympics Minnesota and the United Methodist Church."
From Geib: "Alexis has been my aide for the Career Center/Counseling Offices all year. She is reliable, responsible, polite, kind and seen as a leader even in her role as an aide. Everyone who knows Alexis, knows she is someone they can count on. I know that she has an incredibly full schedule, yet she still manages to fulfill all her obligations. Her time management skills are to be envied. She is an overall wonderful young woman. When she isn't doing work for the counselors or me, she is doing her school work. She does not take any of her blessings lightly either. She is grateful. She is not someone to take things or people for granted."
From Hoff: "Alexis is a member of both Peer Helpers and Peer Tutors. She is responsible, reliable, consistent, compassionate and giving. She has been my 'right-hand woman' on all things Peer Helpers, right there when I need anything. She is driven, kind, talented and just an overall stellar human being. I highly recommend her for this honor!"
