The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported 117 new cases of COVID-19 and one new death from a 90 to 94 year old on Oct. 22.

This week the county had a total of 734 new infections from the coronavirus.

In response to expansion of COVID-19 rapid testing availability across Minnesota, a new community testing site will open in Inver Grove Heights next week.

Testing at the state’s new rapid sites is recommended for symptomatic Minnesotans and is open to Minnesotans with or without insurance.

Dakota County still remains the third most vaccinated county for COVID-19 in Minnesota among ages 16 and older.

Over 80% of Dakota County residents 16 and older have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series.
