One in custody after report of firearm discharge in Denmark Township
DENMARK TOWNSHIP — A suspect was taken into custody Thursday evening after a reported firearm discharge in the 1400 block of 70th Street South.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies responded 4:02 p.m. Aug. 9, 2018, to a disturbance call at a residence, according to a news release. While evacuating occupants from the residence, a deputy reported that a firearm had been discharged.
A suspect reportedly fled the residence to a wooded area and was located soon after, the news release states. The suspect was contained to a 70th Street South residence and later taken into custody following negotiations with authorities.
The suspect was transported to the Washington County Jail.
The area of 70th Street South between Neal Avenue South and Odell Avenue South was closed during the incident.
