One dead in Highway 50 crash near New Trier, alcohol involved: State Patrol report
A one-vehicle accident near New Trier left one dead and another with non-life threatening injuries late Thursday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
According to the incident report, Michael James Serres, 53, Hampton, was driving eastbound on Highway 50 when the vehicle went into the ditch and rolled in the area of Inga Avenue in Douglas Township. The passenger, Terri Lynn Stephenson, 49, also of Hampton, did not survive the crash.
According to the report, Stephenson wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Serres sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol was involved in the incident, according to the report.
