Dakota County will be holding a "Music in the Park" event on Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 5-7 p.m. at the amphitheater in Whitetail Woods Regional Park. The New Riverside Gamblers, which performs Cajun Southwest Louisiana dance music, and Blue Dog (original native blues and rock) will both be performing.

The event is free of charge and there will be three food trucks on site -- El Burrito Mercado, Samurai Teppanyaki and Cookie Dough Bliss. The amphitheater is a large, open space close to the picnic grounds and Empire Lake Picnic Shelter. Tents and staked canopies are not allowed.

The program is sponsored by Dakota County Library and funded by the Minnesota Legacy Amendment's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund along with the Dakota County Public Art Citizen Advisory Committee.
