United Way of Hastings welcomes three new board members
United Way of Hastings has added three new members to its board of directors. They are Matt Schacht, Melissa Stevens and Tim Tabery.
Schacht moved to Hastings early this year as Coborn's new store manager. He once served as a board member for the Big Lake Chamber of Commerce and has "joined the UWH to get involved in the community and help make Hastings a better place to live and work," the press release said.
As the community outreach director for the Wise Family Funeral Home, Stevens said she wants to help people and connect with them. She also runs her own business, Above the Fray, acting as a consultant for other small businesses, according to the press release.
Tabery, the most senior Hastings resident of the new members, has lived here for over 10 years. He works in Welch at U.S. Lock & Dam No. 3 as a lockmaster for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Previously, Tabery worked as a child counselor and juvenile probation officer so he is excited to do work for kids, the release said.
