January author event at Bierstube
Mindy Mejia will be the guest author Jan. 17 at the Hastings Bierstube. Mejia will speak at 6:30 p.m., however, attendees are able to have a meal and beverage beforehand between 5-5:30 p.m. The author event is free.
Mejia, an internationally acclaimed thriller writer, is known for mixing compelling characters with page-turning suspense against the backdrop of the Midwest. Her books have been chosen for People's Best New Books Pick and listed in The Wall Street Journal's Best New Mysteries. She lives and works in the Twin Cities.
Mejia's books include: "The Dragon Keeper," a zookeeper fights to save the animal she loves, even as her own life crumbles around her. "Everything You Want Me To Be," is told from three points of view — Del, Hattie and the new English teacher whose marriage is crumbling — the story of Hattie's last school year and the events that drew her ever closer to her death.
