It was wonderful, she said, as she celebrated her 100th birthday first with family, then with friends at Regina Residence. Peterson was born Sept. 21, 1914, in St. Cloud, the middle of seven children and lived her early years on the family farm. After high school she worked as a nanny and bank teller, then married her husband Palmer.
Jenna Elizabeth Klee of Hastings graduated from North Dakota State University in the summer of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology.
Cole Robert Simpson was born on Aug. 2, 2014, at Regina Medical Center to Brian and Angela Simpson of Hastings. At birth he weighed 6 pounds, 5.3 ounces and was 19 inches long. Cole has two siblings, 10-year-old Carter Simpson and 6-year-old Gace Simpson. Grandparents are John and Sharon Simpson of Hastings, Pattie McNurlin of Hastings and Robert Herman of Ellsworth, Wis. Great-grandmothers are Jean Hemmingsen of Iowa and Mavis Herman-Lopez of California.
AmyLynn Marie Swanson was born on Aug. 10, 2014, at Regina Hospital’s Family Birthing Center to Laura Ann Youle and Joel Swanson of Hastings. At birth AmyLynn weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19.75 inches long. Grandparents are Duane and Nancy Swanson of Hastings. Great-grandparents are David and Eileen Glasspoole of Hudson, Wis., and Lin Youle of Hastings.
Anna Woodwick and Troy Vangsness are happy to announce their engagement. Woodwick is the daughter of Angela and Rodney DeFrance of South St. Paul and Mark and Vickie Woodwick, of Hudson, Wis. She is a 2004 graduate of Hastings High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in communications with a minor in journalism from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in 2008. She is employed as the editor of the Lafayette Nicollet Ledger, in Lafayette, Minn. Vangsness is the son of Mary and Craig Vangsness of Kenyon. Troy is a 2005 graduate of Kenyon-Wanamingo High School.
Ashley Wildfeuer and Andrew Werner announce their engagement. Wildfeuer is the daughter of Kristi Gass of Fulda and the late Tim Wildfeuer. Werner is the son of Chris and Mel Werner of Hastings. Wildfeuer is a 2004 graduate of Fulda High School and a graduate of Minnesota West Community and Technical College. She is currently employed as a licensed dental assistant in St. Paul. Werner is a 2004 graduate of Hastings High School and attended Augsburg College, earning a business degree. He is currently employed at Werner Implement in Vermillion, They plan a Nov. 8 wedding in Hastings.

His concert is part of the Jazz in the Vineyard series each Sunday through August. Pavel Jany and the Talking Strings have been on the music scene with a wide range of jazz styles from bossa nova to jazz-fusion.
by Jane Lightbourn • Staff writer firstname.lastname@example.org Do you enjoy gospel and old time music? If so, this Sunday’s summer concert by the Gloryland Gospel Band will be just your thing. The band performs at 6:30 p.m. at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion St. The group originated in 1998 and its 15 musicians share gospel and old time music. They began as a gospel band singing for worship services at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie. The Gloryland Gospel Band was formed in 2004 and now sings for people in the south and southwest suburbs.
The Legacy Journey classes begin Sept. 16 at United Methodist. New York Times best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio show host, Dave Ramsey, is introducing a new program, The Legacy Journey, and it will be offered in Hastings next month. The Legacy Journey is a seven-week course taught on DVD by Ramsey that shows families and individuals what to do once they have control of their finances, and helps them navigate their way through building wealth so they are able to leave a lasting legacy.
