The annual Animal Ark Christmas and adoption day party will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 from noon to 4 p.m. at 2600 Industrial Ct in Hastings. There will be treats for all, come and walk a dog, pet a cat, and have some pizza. Donations will be appreciated, see suggestions at shelter.animalarkshelter.org .

Scot Schaeffer, Luther College vice president for enrollment management, has announced that Andrew Tank of Hastings, has been accepted for admission for the 2015-16 academic year. He has been awarded the Founders Scholarship.
Robyn Plucker and Andrew Creary are happy to announce their engagement. Plucker is a kindergarten teacher in Blaine. She is the daughter of Judy and Jim Plucker of Welch. Creary works for Cottingham & Butler in St. Louis Park. He is the son of Connie and Mike Creary of Knoxville, Iowa. A June wedding is planned.
Lennon David Hamilton was born on Nov. 1, 2014 to Joe and Alicia Hamilton of Red Wing. At birth Lennon weighed 7 pounds, 10.9 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has three big sisters — Mykaela, Emma and Evelynn. Grandparents are the late Michael Peterson, Pam and Bill Nicoll of Hastings and Melanie Hamilton of St. Paul. Great-grandparents are Rocky and Kathy Peterson of Hastings, Darlene and John Schaffer of New Trier, Doris Slama of St. Paul and Betty Hamilton of Hastings.
Mary Hecimovich will celebrate her 100th birthday at the Ruth Home in Hastings this week. She was born Mary Mauhar in Calumet, Mich., Dec 6, 1914. Her parents, George and Mary Mauhar, had six children and settled on a farm in Black River Falls, Wis. Mary spent her younger days tending to farm chores and caring for her younger siblings. She moved to Milwaukee Wis., where she met Nick Hecimovich. They were married in 1943.

Mark and Kim Ramsbacher of Hastings announce the engagement of their daughter Tiffany Ramsbacher to Ryan Sherry. Tiffany is a 2000 graduate of HHS and a 2002 graduate of Interior Design from Rochester Community and Technical College. Ryan is the son of Pat and the late Dave Berg of Hastings and Dan Langenfeld of St. Paul. He is a 1994 graduate of Hastings High School and graduated in 1996 from Sheet Metal HVAC Local 10. He is employed at Flint Hills Resources in Rosemount. The wedding date has been set for May 9, 2015, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Hastings.

She has one sister, Brooke Elizabeth Schaffer. Grandparents are Al and Sharon Schaffer of Miesville, Brian and Sandy Olson of Hastings and Eugene and Tammy Labey of White Bear Lake. Great-grandparents are Loren Bauer of Hastings and Loretta Schaffer of Miesville.
