Odin Jamie Gahnz was born on Sept. 30, 2013, at Regina Medical Center to Nicole and Chad Gahnz of Hastings. At birth Odin weighed 8 pounds, 4.5 ounces and was 21 inches long. Grandparents are Bryan and Peg Linder of Frontenac, Jaci McVey of Roseville and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Gahnz of Hastings.
Jeremiah Allen Ogren was born on Oct. 11, 2013, at Regina Medical Center to Bethany and Jeffrey Ogren of Diamond Bluff, Wis. At birth Jeremiah weighed 8 pounds, 14.5 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has one sibling, Zachariah. Grandparents are Lynn and Rosalind Morey of Richmond, Ind., Glenn and Deb Ogren of Cannon Falls and Marie and Lack Leuenberger of Isanti. Great-grandparents are Irving and Carol Samuelson of Mendota Heights, Joyce Ogren of Minneapolis and Bernice Morey of Richmond, Ind.
Shay Wesly Anderson was born on Oct. 4, 2013, at Regina Medical Center to Emily and Wesly Anderson of Prescott, Wis. At birth Shay weighed 8 pounds, 10.7 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. He has one sibling, Brett Nelson. Grandparents are Mary and Jerry Anderson of Woodbury and Denise and Marlin Blaisdell of Ellsworth, Wis.
Ryan Eric Matz was born on Oct. 11, 2013, at Regina Medical Center to Alexandra White and Riley Matz of Hastings. At birth Ryan weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Grandparents are Caleb and Deirdre White and Eric and Jennifer Matz, all of Hastings.
Peyton James Halverson was born on Sept. 30, 2013, at Regina Medical Center to Kelsey and Nick Halverson of Hastings. At birth Peyton weighed 8 pounds, 9.5 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. Grandparents are Mike and Sharon Lemke of Little Canada, Jean Eliasson of Hastings and Carol Everson of Willmar.
Elizabeth Dawn Wiltermuth was born on Oct. 9, 2013, to Rebecca Wiltermuth of Hastings. At birth Elizabeth weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Dawn Rowe and Richard Rowe of Hastings. Great-grandparents are Rod and Dorothy Wiltermuth of Hastings.
A benefit for Sharon Kimball of Hastings, a long-time volunteer with the Project Share Auction team, will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, at the American Legion clubrooms, 50 Sibley St., to help pay medical and other bills. There will be a spaghetti dinner and auction. Kimball had major surgery Sept. 24, and while the outcome was positive, she will not be able to work for two to three months. She has no insurance.
There will be two chances to attend the pumpkin party on Oct. 31. The party will be held at 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Dress up for a fun party with games, finger-plays, songs, stories and crafts. This event is presented by Dakota County Technical College Early Childhood Education students. Registration is required. Call 651-438-0200 to register. This event is for those ages 2 to 6. Meet in the Pleasant Hill Library meeting room.
The annual Hastings Halloween Party is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25, at Hastings High School in the commons. Wear your best costume for this family friendly event. There will be food, games, prizes and candy for all. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the party will close at 8 p.m. Admission is a non-perishable food item for Hastings Family Service or a cash donation to the Youth First Planning Council scholarship fund.
