Daniel and Wendy McIntyre of Hastings announce the marriage of their daughter Breanna to Christopher Treptow. The couple was married on Feb. 14, 2014, at The Grand Sunset Princess Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The maid of honor was Brittany Davidson, the bride’s sister. The best man was Casey O’Brien, a friend of the groom. Brittany is employed as a Financial Analyst with 3M and a Realtor at Wissota Real Estate. Christopher is employed at The Sportsman’s Guide in e-commerce merchandising. Christopher is the son of Craig and Cindy Treptow of Cottage Grove. The couple resides in Hastings
Two students from Hastings were named to the fall semester dean's list at University of Northwestern, St. Paul. Zachary Biermaier, son of James Biermaier of Hastings, awarded with Highest Honors. Biermaier is pursuing a degree in Youth and Family Studies and Business at Northwestern. Allison Jacob, daughter of Wendy Jacob of Hastings, awarded with High Honors. Jacob is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Northwestern.
Aaron Schiller of Hastings has been named to the fall semester dean's list at the University of Minnesota Duluth he is a senior majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Christopher Dimmick and Stacy Schmidt, both of Hastings, announce their engagement. Christopher Dimmick is the son of Daryl and Margaret Goebel of Hastings and the late Richard Dimmick of Cottage Grove. He is a graduate of Hennepin Technical College and is employed by Hastings Ford. Stacy Schmidt is the daughter of Garth and Terri Schmidt of Hastings. She is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University of Winona Minnesota and is employed by Prudential of Woodbury.

Kids age 11-16 are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Monday, March 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.for a free class where they will learn basic clay hand-building and glazing techniques to design and build a mug. This class is taught by a professional instructor from The Northern Clay Center. There is no charge for the class, but registration is required. St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Vermillion will hold its annual Bingo Fun Day from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 30. This year’s event will be held in the St. John’s School Community room. There will be bingo, kid’s games and prizes, raffle, silent auction and food. This event is sponsored by the St. John Home & School Association and matching grant sponsored by Sts. Barbara & John Council of the Catholic United Financial. All proceeds benefit St.
Welcome the coming of spring by joining in the tradition of making maple syrup. We’ll hike to the sugarbush to tap maple trees, witness the process of turning sap into syrup and sample the finished product. This program starts indoors but please be prepared to hike in the spring snow and mud.
