An organizational golf meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the Senior Center. The golf outings are for those who enjoy playing for fun and exercise. No scores or handicaps are recorded. Golfing is on Wednesday mornings at five area courses during the summer.
GRASP summer reading and math workbook program are for students in Grades K-8 designed to help maintain the skills they learned this year so their transition in the fall is more fluid. This program will also help youth become more comfortable in the standardized testing environment. The last date to sign up is April 20th. Sample materials are on display at Community Education in the Tilden Community Center, 310 River Street.
Parents interested in getting their child on the road to reading with fun and engaging word activities are invited to an early literacy workshop at the library on Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m. This workshop is open to parents with children ages 0 to 6 years old. The class is free; however registration is required. To register, call the library at 651-438-0200 or visit the library website at www.dakotacounty . us/library. Registration opens April 4.
Rebecca Meier and Jesse Wiederholt announce their engagement. Rebecca is the daughter of Terry and Kim Meier and is employed at Cigna Insurance in Eden Prairie. Jesse is the son of Charlie and Cheryl Wiederholt and is co-owner of Wiederholts Supper Club in Miesville. They have made their home in Miesville. A wedding is planned for May 15, 2015.
Leah Catherine Hansey was born on July 30, 2014 at Regina Medical Center to Ryan and Jaci Hansey of Hastings. At birth Leah weighed 9 pounds, 4.1 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. Leah has one brother, Troy. Grandparents are Mark and Lori Stoffel and Kevin and Ann Hansey, all of Hastings. Great-Grandparents are Wally and Bernie Stoffel, Spud Kimmes, Paul Hansey, and Gayle Gontarek.
Nickolis Werner and Andrea Irvine were married Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea with the reception at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Austin, Minn.

Helen Chapman of Hastings and Jonathan Tracy of San Antonio, TX are pleased to announce their engagement. The wedding date is set to be held in Cottage Grove, this spring.
Robert Henry and Bruce Michael Murray were born on Feb. 20, 2015 at Regina Hospital's Family Birthing Center to Bobbie Armbruster-Murray and Jesse Murray Sr. of Hastings. At birth Robert weighed 5 pounds, 14.4 ounces and was 20 inches long. Bruce weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19.50 inches long. They have one brother, Jessie Jr.. Grandparents are: Kathy Armbruster and Bob Armbruster of Hastings.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School (SEAS) will hold its annual spring fling, “Let’s Luau,” at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 24, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2035 15th St. W. The money raised goes toward the School Endowment Fund which helps families in need of financial assistance. Some of the money also goes to grants to purchase specific items that enhance our student’s education. This year’s Fund-A-Need is a new playground structure. Barb Massman has donated two hand-crafted quilts to help SEAS School raise money to purchase the playground structure.
