Ralph N. Eilen, age 82 of Hampton, Minn. died Aug. 22, 2009 at Regina Medical Center in Hastings, Minn. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 25 at St. Mathias Church in Hampton. Arrangements were made by White Funeral Home.
Sister Rosalie Siebenaler S.S.N.D., age 96, went to meet the Lord on Aug. 23, 2009, the feast day of her patron saint, St. Rose, at the Mother House in Mankato. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, Aug. 26 in Mankato. Memorials are preferred to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 170 Good Counsel Dr., Mankato, MN 56001.
Pete Shelstad, age 66, of Hastings, passed away on August 20, 2009. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 1-5 p.m. at the Hastings VFW. Memorials are preferred to Gillette Children's Hospital. The burial will be private.
Mary Catherine Watson, age 93, died peacefully Aug. 17, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Antoinette King; her husband, Harley Watson; her daughter, Diane Watson and son, Thomas Watson. She is survived by her daughters, Carole Dunn and Toni (Tom) Snyder; grandchildren, Lesley (Michael) Cello, Matthew Snyder, Kathleen Watson and Caitlin Dunn. Mary Catherine is also survived by her sisters, Virginia Anderson, Gloria Kranz, Marge King and Edna (Joe) Kimmes.
Sylvester J. Taube, age 86, of Hastings, died Aug. 16, 2009, at Prescott Nursing and Rehab Community, Prescott Wis. He was born December 10, 1922, in Hazelton, N.D., to Edward and Eva (Schaffer) Taube. Sylvester served in the U.S. Army, and married Irma Riemenschneider on July 6, 1951, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Hastings. He was employed at Con-Agra for 36 years, and was a member of the American Legion, and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council No.1600. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Taube and Eva (Schaffer) Taube-Payette; and half-brother, Joseph Landsberger.
Thelma W. Graham, age 88, of Prescott, Wis., died Aug. 14, 2009, at the Lutheran Home, River Falls, Wis. Thelma was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Bowman, S.C., to Preston and Belle (Kaizer) Wimberly. She married Joseph M. Graham Dec. 7, 1941, in McKenzie, Fla. Thelma was employed at Smead Manufacturing prior to her retirement. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; son, George; grandson, Michael; and four brothers.
D. Bruce Ellingson, age 50, formerly of Palm Springs, Fla., and Hastings, Minn., died Aug. 8, 2009. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Ellingson. He is survived by his parents, Dorothy and Don Ellingson of Hastings, Minn.; sisters Cindy Ellingson of Apple Valley, Minn., and Laurel (George) Johnson of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; and many friends and relatives. Memorial services were held at Honsa Family Funeral Home, White Bear, Minn., Aug. 14, 2009.
Phyllis Heinlein, 77, of Cannon Falls, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 15, 2009, at the Cannon Falls Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls with the Reverend Jay K. Kythe, officiating. Burial will be in St. Pius Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, where there will be a 4 p.m. prayer service, and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Phyllis R. Heinlein was born Jan.
Dr. Paul E. Lunde, age 79, a retired Hastings chiropractor, died Aug. 5, 2009, at the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings. Paul was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Willmar, Minn., to Theodore and Evelyn (Olson) Lunde. He served three years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Virginia M. Hecker Sept. 24, 1960, in Hastings.
Leonard Michael Weiss, age 48, of Hastings, formerly of Bloomingdale, N.J., died Sunday, Aug. 9, surrounded by his family, after a five-year battle with colon cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Phyllis Weiss. He is survived by Tara, his wife of 20 years, daughter, Maggie; son, Lenny; brother, Bob (Dawn); nephew, James; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, aunts, uncles and cousins in Minnesota and New Jersey. Lenny grew up in Bloomingdale, and went to college in River Falls, Wis., where he met his future wife, Tara Donohue.
