Bernard M. Smith, age 91, of Hampton, died Sept. 2, 2010, at the Regina Nursing Home in Hastings. Bernard was born June 20, 1919, in White, S.D., to Joseph and Mary (Ettienne) Smith. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and married Irene Landsberger on June 25, 1946, in Hampton.
Adelaide "Addie" Girgen passed away on Sept. 1, 2010, at Regina Nursing Home, which was her home for the past 6-1/2 years. Adelaide was born Jan. 27, 1924, in St. Paul to Engelbert and Louise (Olbrich) Gerstner. Growing up in St. Paul, she attended St. Francis Elementary and Monroe High School. For twelve years she took violin lessons and played at St. Francis Catholic Church during Christmas Midnight Mass. After high school graduation she worked at Waldorf Paper Products Company. She married Francis Girgen (of Coates) on Oct. 13, 1951, at Sacred Heart Church in St.

Ruth A. Grill, age 92, of Plymouth, Minn., born Nov. 26, 1917, in Hastings, Minn., to Hulda and Charles Almquist, died peacefully at home August 28, 2010. She married Ambrose P. Grill on Dec. 27, 1941.
Marjorie A. "Marge" Kieffer, age 77, of Hastings, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at her home. Marge was born August 2, 1933, in Hastings to Nicholas and Justine (Brochman) Becker. She married Francis J.
Lorraine R. (Gerster) Rother, age 90, of Hastings, died August 28, 2010, at Regina Assisted Living. Lorraine was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Hampton, to Edward and Dorothy (Peine) Gerster. She was united in marriage to Edwin Rother on May 28, 1940, in Hampton. Lorraine was a homemaker, and also worked with her husband and sons at Rother Meats. She was fun-loving and enjoyed her grandchildren, playing cards and socializing.
Harley M. Keck, age 78, of Prescott, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010, at his home. He was born in Jordan, Mont., on April 15, 1932, son of Milton and Hazel (Roettger) Keck. Harley served his country in the Army and Air Force from 1949 to 1951, when he was honorably discharged. He married Charlotte Schmolke and they were married for 27 years before they were divorced. He then married Judith Breiter on July 31, 1982. Harley had the biggest heart, was the kindest man, and would do anything for anybody.
Brian James Hurlburt, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2010, at Banner Churchill Community Hospital, Fallon, Nev. He was born Dec. 7, 1964, in St. Paul, Minn., to Glenn and Jean (Brunette) Hurlburt and he had lived in Fallon since 2001. Brian was a retired chief from the U.S. Navy, serving 23 years. He was an aviation mechanic working at NAS Fallon. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Gary L. Cran, a tractor enthusiast, age 69, of Hastings, passed away August 22, 2010, at Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Gary was born in Hastings on June 17, 1941, to Rolland and Verna Cran. He married Jeannette Schwanz at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Paul on Sept. 19, 1970. He had a love of tractors that started with a toy tractor collection and ended with a collection of real tractors.
Marjorie Ann Forbes of Elk River, Minn., died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Parkview Care Center, Buffalo, Minn. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church, 5760 Portland Ave. S., Minneapolis. A gathering will be held one hour prior to the service.
