Paul E. Lunde was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Willmar, Minn., to Theodore and Evelyn (Olson) Lunde. He had served three years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and retired in 2000, after forty plus years as a Hastings chiropractor. He married Virginia Marie Hecker on Sept. 24, 1960, in Hastings. Dr. Paul Lunde died August 5, 2009. Virginia Marie was born July 8, 1928, in Minneapolis to Henry and Rose (McLean) Hecker. She and Paul had shared a love for golf and travel. Virginia died Dec. 8, 2009. Their interments were held at Ft.
Margie Mae Reuter, age 81, of Hastings, died Dec. 20, 2009, at Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Hastings, to Emil and Anne Radke. She was married to Thomas C. Reuter on June 25, 1949, in Hastings. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by daughter, Gloria Lawrence; sons, Richard Reuter and Bruce Reuter; sister, Edna Mae Seidl; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas C. Reuter; son, Thomas G.
Richard Edwin Wright, age 66, of Township of Chicog, Wis., passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at his home. Dick was born Sept. 19, 1943, in Hastings, Minn., to the late Henry and Leona (Clark) Wright. Dick married Karen Morrissette Oct. 8, 1966. They enjoyed 43 years together. He was employed at ConAgra Foods Inc.
Nancy A. Kieffer, age 52, of Lakeville, died Dec. 16, 2009, at her residence. Nancy was born Nov. 3, 1957, in Hastings, to Ambrose and Juliana (Mamer) Kieffer. She worked in packaging at ProAct. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Cathy and Mary; and brothers, Joseph and William. Nancy is survived by her brothers, Ken (Kevin Bailey) Kieffer of St.
Michael P. Kies, beloved husband, father, son, brother, age 51, passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Kathy, and his son, Ken. He was the son of Col. (Ret) Robert H. Kies and the late Ruby B. (Cox) Kies. Survived also by his brothers, Robert Jr. and Kenneth (Kathleen); sisters, Kathleen Cote and Pamela Wilkerson; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Lucille Dove; brothers-in-law, Glenn Saeger, Chad and Ken Dove.
Anna R. Swenson, age 90, of Hudson, formerly of Hastings, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009. She was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Burnett County, Wis. and had worked for Smead Manufacturing in Hastings. The memorial service, officiated by Rev. Lloyd Menke, will be held Dec. 16 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home in Hastings. James Richard Serres, age 46, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec. 7, 2009. James was born July 7, 1963, in Hastings to Fredrick and Ilse (Schuster) Serres. He was a 1981 graduate of Hastings High School. James moved to Arizona in his early 20s and made his home there. He was self employed, and an avid sports fan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ilse Serres.
Mike Pavelich Michael Dewey (Mike) Pavelich, beloved father and brother, age 59, of Hastings, formerly of Mesa, Ariz., went home to heaven on Dec. 11, 2009. Mike had been under doctors' care recently, after surviving open heart surgery in July of 2009. It is unknown what caused a massive heart attack which in turn created internal bleeding that led to his death, but all had been optimistic about his recovery. Mike was born on July 7, 1950, the fourth child of Milan and Vivian Katherine Pavelich, and graduated from Mesa High School in 1968.
Virginia M. Lunde, age 81, of Hastings, died Dec. 8, 2009, at her home. Virginia Marie was born July 8, 1928, in Minneapolis, to Henry and Rose (McLean) Hecker. She was united in marriage to Dr. Paul Lunde on Sept. 24, 1960, in Hastings. Virginia enjoyed golfing and travel. She was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Rosemarie and Arlene; and her husband, Dr. Paul Evans Lunde. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Tom) Gallagher of Purcellville, Va.; brother, David Hecker of Wasilla, Alaska; and nieces and nephews. Interment was held at Ft.
Myrna E. Chasteen of St. Paul Park, surrounded by her loving family, was reunited with her husband, James, fifteen brothers and sisters, grandson James Allen Chasteen, Jr., and a great-grandchild. Myrna was the youngest of nineteen children. She was a strong woman of great faith, and served many at All Saints Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove. Her career began as a legal secretary for a law firm in Muscatine, Iowa. She married the love of her life, James H. Chasteen, and raised five children, moving to St. Paul Park, Minn., in 1961.
