Alyce M. Kieffer, age 74, of Hastings died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at her home. Alyce was born Jan. 4, 1936, in Hastings, to Peter and Marie (Moes) Gergen. She married Harold J. Kieffer on Sept. 5, 1959, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. She worked for over 30 years as a finance manager for ITT.
Julie Kimmes, age 49, of Cannon Falls, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at the Three Links Health Care Center in Northfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 Colvill St. W., Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Thursday one hour prior to service.
Olga L. (Richter) Magnon, age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 9, 2010, at Regina Hospice in Hastings. Olga will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker who lovingly provided a warm and orderly home. She was devoted to her Christian faith and had a remarkable talent for knitting and crocheting. Olga was born April 5, 1920, in Krem, N.D., to David and Rebekka Richter. She married Leo Magnon on March 25, 1943. After raising three sons in Bloomington, she and Leo moved to Park Rapids to own and operate the Blu Hollow Resort.
Gloria Marion LaFavor, 65, passed away Sept. 9, 2010, in her home in Hastings. On March 8, 1945, Gloria was born in St. Paul to Leslie and Violet (Paul) Harwell. On Nov. 23, 1963, she married Gregory LaFavor and was later blessed with three children: Ken, David and Julie. Over the years, Gloria did many arts and crafts and enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Alan L. Rose, 73, of Alpharetta, Ga., died Sept. 6, 2010. Alan, originally from Sutton, W.V., lived in many diverse places from Minnesota, Kansas, Alaska, and Beaune, France. More recently he resided in Alpharetta. Alan, a graduate from Sutton High School, later obtained a bachelor's of mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He served in the U.S.
Arlyne Ethel Clement, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2010, at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie. She was born in Madison, on Feb. 9, 1919, the eldest of four children to Edward and Regina (Hyland) Usher. Arlyne was an interior designer for Gimbel's Department Store in Madison. She was a wonderful seamstress and an excellent water color artist. In 1941 she married William Clement from Spring Green. He preceded her in death in 2005. They were members of Bethel Lutheran Church for more than fifty years.
The funeral service for Flossie Mae Gerths was 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the First Congregational Church UCC at 12 - 2nd St. in Dodge Center with Reverend Jean Boese officiating. Visitation was one hour before the service at the church. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center. Flossie Mae Gerths, 95, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and formerly of Dodge Center, Minn., died at White Pines Senior Residence in Inver Grover Heights. Flossie Mae Checkel was born on May 31, 1915, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Rose (Prusha) Checkel in Dows, Iowa.
Lance Milton Reinhardt, 59, of Hastings, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Regina Hospital. Lance was born Sept. 13, 1950, to Floyd and Genevieve Reinhardt in Hastings. He was married to Colleen (Amy) for 28 wonderful years and they were blessed with two children: Rachel and Jake. He loved playing baseball, softball and golf. He also enjoyed following all Minnesota sports teams.
Mandy Lynn (Behnken) Muench, 34, of North Mankato, Minn., died suddenly on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at home due to an apparent heart condition. Mandy was born Sept. 25, 1975, in Rochester, Minn., the daughter of Steve and LuAnn (Rosolack) Behnken. She graduated in 1994 from Rochester John Marshall High School. She attended Mankato State University then went on to receive her paralegal degree from Rasmussen College. On Oct. 20, 2001 Mandy was united in marriage to Marc Muench of Hastings, Minn., at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester.
Bernard M. Smith, age 91, of Hampton, died Sept. 2, 2010, at the Regina Nursing Home in Hastings. Bernard was born June 20, 1919, in White, S.D., to Joseph and Mary (Ettienne) Smith. He was an Army veteran of WWII, and married Irene Landsberger on June 25, 1946, in Hampton.
