Hildegard M. Eggert, age 92, of Hastings, died Feb. 16, 2011, at Regina Medical Center. Hildegard was born Oct. 1, 1918, in Holdingford, Minn., to Joseph and Louise (Roesch) Zeis. She married Elmer J. Eggert on Dec. 28, 1940, in Minneapolis, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 8 siblings; and son-in-law Bob Friesen.
Fran Cahill, an avid baker, age 74, of Hastings, passed away Feb. 15, 2011, at Prescott Care Center. Fran was born in Hastings on Sept. 1, 1936, to Frank and Marie (Denn) Cahill. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. Fran was preceded in death by his parents and nephew John Cahill. He is survived by his siblings, Marg Mollick, Babe (Don) Holzmer, John (Rita) Cahill, Mike (Archie) Cahill, Pat (Deb) Cahill; many nieces and nephews; uncle, Vess Denn; and aunt, Josephine Denn. Ralph W. Malloy, a champion cribbage player, age 76, of Hastings, passed away Feb. 14, 2011, at his home. He was born July 5, 1934, in Belle Creek, Minn., to Clarence and Florence Malloy. Ralph retired from Koch Refinery and was the owner of Malloy and Sons Painting. He was the Nickname Maestro, giving everyone he knew their own special nickname. Ralph was a huge dog lover; he truly treated dogs as if they were human.
Norman Duffy, 83, of Lake Charles, La., formally of Hastings, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Duffy was born in Cumming, Iowa, to Robert and Ruth Duffy. He joined the Merchant Marines, then enlisted in the Air Force and served as a "Tail Gunner" in the Korean War. Duffy was stationed at Chennault Air Force Base where he met and married Wana Landry. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local #678 for many years. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
Stanley J. Zlotkowski, age 80, of Cologne, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at St. Gertrude's Health Care Center in Shakopee. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Cologne with Father Martin Shallbetter as celebrant of the Mass. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. Final resting place St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Cologne. Stanley was born on July 11, 1930, in Hastings, the son of Louis W. and Elizabeth M. (Macheskie) Zlotkowski. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Cologne.
Wendy Rae Veith, age 40, of Hastings, passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, Feb. 6, 2011. Wendy was born May 5, 1970, in Minneapolis, to Kenneth and Linda (Nordby) Veith. She was a 1988 graduate of Hastings High School and attended St. Cloud State and Inver Grove Heights Community College.
Carol L. Meinhart, age 70, of Monticello, passed away Jan. 30, 2011. Carol was born Jan. 21, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., to Michael and Mary (Howard) Pontello. She married Wayne A. Meinhart June 6, 1959, in Duluth.
Eunice O. Voss, age 75, formerly of Hastings, passed into the arms of her Lord on Jan. 25, 2011. A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 29, at Como By The Lake Residence, 901 Como Ave. St. Paul. Memorials to donor's choice.
Martin "Manna" Manovich, age 57, of Hastings, died Jan. 25, 2011. Martin was born Aug. 9, 1953, in Gary, Ind., to Martin Sr. and Ann (Pesuit) Manovich. Marty was a 1971 graduate of Hastings High School and veteran who served his country from 1972-1975 at Ft. Carson, Colo. He worked as a handyman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, music and motorcycles.
Francis J. Siebenaler, age 72, passed away Jan. 21, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Frattalone); son, Bradley (Heidi), and grandson, Reggie, Hugo, Minn.; brothers: Richard, Wisconsin; Vern (Pat), Pennsylvania; Jim (Noreen), California; sister, Lou Ann Caneff, Hastings; sister-in-law, Rosemary, Arizona. Preceded in death by parents, Mike and Florence (Pasch); brother Arthur; nephew, Kraig; niece, Mary. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Jan. 26, at St. Peters Catholic Church, N. St. Paul. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
