The task of finding a way to build a Vikings stadium falls to six legislative negotiators after the House and Senate passed different plans. The stadium half dozen will negotiate to find compromises that the Legislature can accept when the bill returns for full House and Senate votes. Vikings Vice President Lester Bagley said it is time to "sit down and roll up our sleeves" as the details of the final bill are hammered out. Senate bill author Sen. Julie Rosen, R-Fairmont, said the House-Senate conference committee will start work as soon as possible.

The second span of the Wakota Bridge should be open in July of 2010, a few months earlier than recently stated, a Minnesota Department of Transportation official told legislators at a Minnesota House Commerce and Labor Committee hearing Tuesday. MnDOT Deputy Commissioner and Chief Engineer Khani Sahebjam said it is impossible to move the project any faster because the bridge is being cast in place.
Two people died in a collision on Highway 61 Sunday evening that involved a motorcycle and passenger car. The collision occurred on northbound Highway 61 at 120th Street when the driver of a 1996 Saturn tried to turn to eastbound 120th Street and pulled in front of a motorcycle, which was in the left lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The motorcycle hit the front passenger side of the vehicle. The driver and passenger on the motorcycle, Randy L. Metzler, 51, and Kay M. Metzler, 56, both of Bloomington, were ejected from the motorcycle in the crash and were fatally injured.
