HYAA winter softball skills clinics
Hastings Youth Athletic Association (HYAA) is hosting free winter skills clinics for new and experienced softball players at the 8U/10U levels (birth years of 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010). New players are welcome, no experience is necessary and no equipment is needed. Clinics will be held on Fridays (6-7 p.m. and 7- 8 p.m.) January 19, February 16, March 2 and March 23 at Pinecrest Elementary gym.
The players will be taught throwing and fielding mechanics along with some fun to exercise those skills. They will be led by current Hastings Raiders players, with various coaches from across all levels of the game assisting.
The clinics are at no cost, but do require simple player registration: please send full player name, parent contact email and birth year to Scott Tryba. Find contact information at http://www.hyaa.info.
Youth Tennis registration now open
The Hastings Tennis Association (HTA) is offering many spring and summer youth tennis opportunities that include both drills and match play. New programs in 2018 include "Friday FUNdamentals" (ages 3-5 and grades Kindergarten-fifth) and a Girls Singles League (grades seventh-12th). Two of the more popular returning programs are USTA Junior Team Tennis and "Drills and Match Play." Whether a beginner or experienced player, HTA has something for everyone! Registration for adult tennis programs now open
The Hastings Tennis Association (HTA) is offering a variety of spring and summer tennis programs designed for adults and seniors. In addition to the ever-popular Women's and Men's Singles Leagues, HTA offers beginner lessons, weekly drills and a doubles clinic. New in 2018 is a Women's and Men's Doubles League. "Try Tennis for Free" registration now open
The Hastings Tennis Association (HTA) is offering opportunities for both youth and adults to "Try Tennis for Free." No racket? No problem. Just bring yourself and a willingness to have fun and try a terrific sport. Adults and high school players are invited to come to the Hastings High School Courts on Wednesday, May 16, from 6-8 p.m. or on Sunday, May 20, from 6-8 p.m. Middle school-aged players can come on Sunday, June 3, from 6-8 p.m. There is no cost, but please register online at www.hastingstennis.org.
Senior open doubles tennis starting soon
Beginning Friday, May 18, and every Friday thereafter throughout the summer, Hastings Tennis Association (HTA) will be offering "Senior Fridays" open doubles for adults 55 years and older. There is no charge but please bring a new can of tennis balls. Senior Fridays will be held at the Hastings High School courts from 9-11 a.m. No partner needed and no need to sign up.
