HHS boys' hockey gets second win of the season against rival Red Wing

Boys' Hockey

The Hastings boys' hockey team notched their second win in a row, and of the season, against the Red Wing Wingers Tuesday, Dec. 20. The Raiders came back from being down 2-1 entering the third period, but then exploded for three goals in the period to win 4-2. Hastings is now 2-7 on the season overall.

Hastings scored first with just a few minutes left in the first period. Peter Meyer scored the unassisted goal to put the Raiders up 1-0 going into the second period. However, the Wingers would tie the game midway through the period, and then go ahead 2-1 with just minutes left. Both goals came from Teddy Lillico.

Two minutes into the third period, the Raiders tied the game on an empty net goal by Morgan Sweeney. The go-ahead goal came from Leo Otto, assisted by Colin Sieh, and then the clincher at the end of the third period from Luke Larson, assisted by Logan Boogren and Otto.

Hastings outshot the Wingers 36 to 23 and goalie Scott Tuin had 21 saves.

The Raiders will play in a holiday tournament in South St. Paul at Doug Woog Arena Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 26-28.
