Boys, girls take second in St. Bonifacius

The Hastings boys cross country team placed second at a 10-team meet held in St. Bonifacius last Tuesday.

Delano won the meet with 35 points. Hastings had 86.

Individually, Zack Benning was the overall winner. He finished the 5k course in 15 minutes and 39.2 seconds.

Will Caturia was 12th overall in 17:54.3. Will Briercliffee was 21st in 18:32.2. Nate Holm took 23rd in 18:37.7. Mike Tappella was 34th in 18:54.8. Nick Johnson finished 37th in 18:58.3 and Brendan McCabe was 50th in 19:33.2.

For the junior varsity, Colby Smith took second in 18:51. Isaiah Gardell placed sixth in 19:07.1. Kyle Gudmunson placed 11th in 19:26.0. Brandon Haraldson finished 14th in 19:31.6. Finley Meyers was 16th in 19:35.1.

Also running were: Bobby Verchota, Joshua Brown, Seth Greengo, David Syverson, Austin Reuter, Jake Spitzack, Ethan Kimmes, Christian Flanders, Victor Lindgren, Dan Eggert, Tate Gahnz, Nick Sampson, Forrest Close, and Blake Woolard.


The Hastings girls also placed second at the meet.

Michaela Mills was the top Hastings finisher, taking ninth in 17:17.9 on the 4k course.

Quinn Meyers was 15th in 17:45.6.

Ciara Carlson took 18th in 17:49.1.

Kailee Harrington placed 28th in 18:27.3.

Rachel Peterson finished 31st in 18:33.2.

Abberly Smith took 42nd in 19:17.4 and Taylor Engstrom was 45th in 19:33.3.
