Raiders beat Mounds View, 6-5, in OT

The section tournament begins tonight (Thursday) for the Hastings boys hockey team.

The No. 5 seeded Raiders are playing at the No. 4 seeded team from East Ridge.

During the regular season, the two teams played twice in Suburban East Conference action. The Raptors won both games, 4-3 and 5-4.

"I don't think we played particularly well in the second game," coach Russ Welch said. "We'll need to play better, obviously. We're going to have to minimize our mistakes. The last time we played them, they had a breakaway, a 2-on-1 and a 3-on-2 and they scored on every one of those. I think we can score goals against them, but we'll have to keep them off the board and not give them so many opportunities."

Mounds View

With the win, Hastings moved past Mounds View in the Suburban East Conference standings, earning third place in the league. Previously in the season, Mounds View beat Hastings 6-1.
