Three Hastings girls golfers advanced to second round of sections
Three girls golfers from Hastings advanced to the section day of the section tournament last week, thanks to a solid play in the first round.
Sadie Karbo, Caitlyn Judge and Haley Jo Kimmen each advanced to the second day of play, which was held at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.
Karbo shot a 91 on the second day. Kimmen had a 105 and Judge had a 106.
None of the three advanced to the state tournament, but coach Becky Hartung was thrilled to have three girls advance in the competitive tournament.
"The second day of sections was a great experience for the girls even though no one advanced to state," she said. "They are a great group of kids and the experience they gained at sections will benefit them in future matches."
On the first day of play, Karbo and Judge each had 98s. Kimmen had a 99.
Rachel Reamer shot a 102 and was tied with two players to advance to the second round, but lost out on a playoff on the 10th hole.
Maddie Bauer had a 109 and Hannah Hoffman had a 111.
