Robert F. Hansen

Robert (Bob) Hansen, age 92, of Hastings, formerly of Grand Fords, ND, and Bemidji, passed away peacefully on October 15th, 2017.

Bob was born on August 23rd, 1925 in Grand Forks, ND, to Fred and Emma Hansen. He graduated from UND with a degree in accounting, later becoming a CPA. He was crazy for his wife, Cora Mae, who he married on September 30, 1950. Bob served as a Navigator in the Air Force, completing two tours, including one in North Africa. He was part-owner of KNOX, KKBJ, and several other radio stations in the region. Bob retired to his Bemidji lake home, where he enjoyed golf, fishing, and entertaining family & friends. Bob was very proud of the fact that he had 3 holes-in-one at the Bemidji Country Club. Early retirement years included trips to Las Vegas, Reno, and Colorado. He and Cora Mae later moved to Hastings to be near family. Bob inspired everyone he met in his lifetime, was a lover of animals, and most of all, loved his wife and family. He was positive, kind, thoughtful, and will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by the love of his life, Cora Mae (of 67 years), daughter Janet (Lee) Samson, sons Rob (Laurie) and Ron (Jamie); 6 grandchildren, Kristi, Stacey, Jessi, Stephanie, Rob, and Rachel; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Hazel Bolton, Mae Arnold, and Jean Forde.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 19th at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 400 West 9th Street, Hastings with visitation one hour prior to the service. Future private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to the Humane Society or Hastings Animal Ark.

While we are deeply saddened by our loss, we will be forever blessed by Bob's memory.
