Lawrence J. Langer, 82
Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Langer, age 82, of Bay City, Wis., passed away on Sept. 12, 2017, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1935, in Red Wing, Minn., to Richard and Anna (Murphy) Langer. He attended St. Marys Big River School and was a graduate of Prescott High School. After graduation, he began working for the Franciscans distributing church materials for the Catholic Church. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Bonita Champagne, and they were married in 1959. They were blessed with nine children by 1969.
Because of the need to support their large family, Larry decided to start his own business of selling and installing new and used restaurant equipment. During Lawrence's restaurant business career, his highlight was stopping at their business, having a cup of coffee and catching up on news they had to share from his last visit, he enjoyed a long and intimate conversation.
Family was always important to Larry and he taught his children how to communicate with the public, how to work hard and how to look out for each other. He also taught them how to work together for the greater good and how to think independently.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anna; wife, Bonita; son, David; and brother, Richard Jr.
Larry is survived by his children, Teresa, Tony, Janelle, Mary, Tim, Daniel, John, Patricia and Michelle; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Rosemary Matzek.
