Joanne E. Wollmering, 79
Joanne E. Wollmering, 79, of Kirksville, Mo., and formerly of Ft. Madison, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at 3:50 a.m. at Kirksville Manor.
She was born on July 7, 1938, in Hastings, Minn., to Matthew and Marie Ludwig Stoffel. On Aug. 20, 1960, she married William E. Wollmering in Miesville, Minn., and he passed away on June 14, 2003. Joanne was a bus driver for twenty six years for the FMSD. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Newberry Center. Joanne also enjoyed watching TV, especially sports. She was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include one son, Jerry (Alicia) Wollmering of Kirksville, Mo.; one daughter, Karen (Stephen) Lind of Onalaska, Wis.; five grandchildren, Leah, Erica and Kate Wollmering, Christine (Matt) Ray and Michael Lind; one great-grandson, Joshua Ray; two sisters, Kathy Lanz of Minneapolis, Minn., and Elaine Worshek of Charleston, Ill.; one brother, Donald Stoffel of Hastings, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Mortenson of Blaine, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. The family will meet with friends for a time of food and fellowship from 11-12 p.m. at Rolling Hall just prior to the service. Burial will be in Soldier's Circle, Oakland Cemetery.
