Benefit for Bentley to be held June 17

"Battle for Bentley," a benefit for Bentley Mueller, will be held 1-5 p.m. June 17 at The Coliseum Sports Bar and Grill, 1840 Vermillion St. The benefit will include a silent auction, raffles, meat raffle, tap beer special, food special and a bake sale.

Bentley is the 1-year-old son of Kellsee and Dustin Mueller. At 6 months old, Bentley was diagnosed with hemihypertrophy, a rare genetic disorder that causes an overgrowth of limbs on one side of the body. Around the time he turned 1, he was also diagnosed with Beckwith-Weidman Syndrome, which causes tumors to grow and can cause an overgrowth of some organs. In January, Bentley underwent surgery to remove a growth on his liver. The growth was cancerous and he began chemotherapy treatments.

The benefit will help Bentley's family offset the medical costs. The family is accepting donations for a silent auction, raffle prizes or financial donations.
