This Old Horse invites the public to their next open house on Saturday, June 17, for the annual Release the Beasts day as the horses move from their winter dry lots to pastures of green grass for the summer.

Be there at 10 a.m. to witness horses thunder down the lane and turn the corner into their summer grazing pastures.

The open house is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with tours and a chance to see some of the retired, rescued and recovering horses that now call Wishbone Ranch their home. The Tack Shop will also be open with items to purchase, which supports the horses.

This Old Horse is located at 19025 Coates Blvd., Hastings. For more information, call 651-437-1889.

Founded in 2012, This Old Horse is a private, volunteer-based 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide sanctuary to retired, rescued and recovering horses.

Since opening in 2012, This Old Horse has helped nearly 200 horses in their sanctuary program at Wishbone Ranch and through an ever-expanding regional foster network that now hosts more than 65 horses in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Ohio. They have supported 30 different breeds of horses, a hinny (mule) named Burdock and a spotted Mexican donkey named Derby. In the past eight months they have rescued 19 wild mustangs from the nearly 900 horses in distress in South Dakota including nine blind horses that have found sanctuary and safe harbor through This Old Horse.
