After 'Chinese fire drill,' two people in same car arrested for DWI in Hastings
According to Hastings police, two people were arrested for DWI after a "Chinese fire drill" at a stop light. The incident was reported at 5:08 p.m. on Sept. 22.
An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle stop at a light on Vermillion Street and then watched as the two occupants got out and swapped places in the vehicle, backing up traffic behind them.
The officer followed the vehicle and stopped it at County Road 46 and Walnut Street. After investigation, officers ended up conducting field sobriety tests on both occupants.
The male driver had a PBT of .28. He was arrested for DWI.
The female passenger was also arrested for DWI. She had a PBT of .21.
