Police report preview - Sept. 21 to Sept. 27

Here is this week's police report preview. The entire report can be seen on Page 4A of this week's print edition.

A 21-year-old Hastings man punched his 86-year-old grandfather and was cited on Sept. 21.

He fled and was charged by formal complaint.

The case is being reviewed.

•A warrant arrest was made at 7:12 a.m. on Sept. 21 in the 400 block of Lock and Dam Road. Officers observed a person camping in Jaycee Park. Officers made contact with the man, who said he had been living in the park.

He had a warrant out for his arrest.

• An assault was reported in the 1000 block of Fifth Street. A juvenile reported he was hit in the head and officers could see a wound on the juvenile’s eye.

A group of boys was playing football in Lions Park. A few more children came into the park and started to push them around.

Apparently the bad blood exists because the person who got punched is dating one of the boy’s ex-girlfriends.

“That’s for breaking my heart,” said the boy who did the assaulting.

Two juveniles were summoned to court. The incident took place Sept. 21.

• A suspicious occupied vehicle was reported in the 400 block of 18th Street. One person was seen outside of the vehicle urinating. The call came in at 3:09 a.m. on Sept. 22.

Officers responded and found the vehicle.

All three occupants said they had been drinking.

A 17-year-old male was cited for underage consumption.

A 19-year-old male was cited for underage drinking and driving.

A juvenile female was cited for underage consumption and disorderly conduct. She was yelling and screaming at officers.
