Three juveniles arrested after entering HMS through unsecured door on Saturday

Hastings Middle School was the site of a burglary Saturday afternoon.

Officers from the Hastings Police Department responded to the school after an alarm was triggered. Officers arrived a short time later and found three juvenile males in the school. One of the boys ran. He was later located.

All three were arrested. Two were released to the custody of their parents and the third was taken to the juvenile detention center.

Apparently the three gained access to the building through a door in the rear of the building that wasn't fully secure.

Nothing was taken and no damage was done to the building.

The matter is pending in juvenile court.
