Police report preview - Dec. 19 to Dec. 26

• At 2:23 a.m. on Dec. 21, police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Ramsey Street on the report of a man pounding on doors. Officers located the man and identified him.

He was deemed unable to care for himself and was transported to detox. He had a blood-alcohol-concentration of .19. The man had trouble walking and couldn't explain why he was in that neighborhood knocking on doors.

• At 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21, Hastings police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Riverwood Court. Someone had heard a loud noise and then found a smoldering object in their yard.

Someone had made a MacGyver bomb, or a bottle bomb, and thrown it into the yard. No motive was found for the action.

• A Hastings man out for his 21st birthday was found leaning against a fence in the 1000 block of Lyn Way at 12:42 a.m. Dec. 23.

Officers were called to the area, where they found a man who was unsteady on his feet and slurring his speech. He was transported home and released to the care of his mother.
