Hastings woman wakes up, finds intoxicated man in her kitchen

Officers responded to the 1700 block of 13th Street at 2:29 a.m. Nov. 16 on the report of an intoxicated male who broke into a home and was found resting on the kitchen floor.

The homeowner had awoken and went downstairs, where she found a man in his 30s on her floor in front of her refrigerator. The woman engaged the man in conversation and asked him to leave. He did. She described him as a white man with a beard, a military jacket and brown penny loafer shoes.

There were some signs of forced entry at the house. Police did a search of the area but couldn't find the man.
