UPDATED: Two injured in rollover early Sunday
Two 23-year-old men were transported by ambulance directly to Regions Hospital in St. Paul early Sunday morning following a rollover crash on Hwy. 10, about six miles east of Prescott.
Lucas J. Niebur, of Prescott, the driver, and Owen E. Schmitz, of Hastings, Minn., were both found on the ground outside the 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier when emergency workers arrived at the scene, shortly after 2 a.m.
Pierce County sheriff's deputy Andrew Thom said the car was westbound on on Hwy. 10, just east of CTH QQ when the car drifted onto the north shoulder, entered a ditch and overturned several times.
EMS personnel from Ellsworth transported Niebur while Prescott EMT's treated and transported Schmitz, Thom said.
Niebur was listed in good condition Monday, a Regions spokesperson said, while Schmitz's condition was unavailable.
Thoms said a medical helicopter was called but was unable to fly due to weather conditions
Prescott fire and police personnel also assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
