Ice blamed for death of one, injury to another
The Minnesota State Patrol is blaming a patch of ice on Highway 52 for the single-vehicle accident that killed one person and injured a 20-year-old Rosemount woman Sunday.
The Rosemount woman was driving south on Highway 52 near 117th Street around noon when she hit a patch of ice. The 2005 Pontiac G6 rolled off the road to the right and both the woman and her passenger were thrown from the car.
The driver suffered minor injuries. She was treated at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The passenger, who has not been identified at all, was killed.
The State Patrol plans to identify the passenger Jan. 5.
