Concrete work will close Second Street Saturday morning

MnDOT will be conducting a significant concrete pour on the south approach of the new Highway 61 bridge Aug. 10.

Second Street will be closed temporarily from the east ramp to the west ramp from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, to allow concrete trucks safe access to and from the pour site. Crews will wrap up the work prior to the Cruise In car show, which will be held in downtown Hastings later that day. Construction activities will not impact the car show schedule, according to MnDOT.

This is the second of three total pours over the span of about one week. On Wednesday, Aug. 7, concrete was poured near Pier 5 and covered about 1,100 yards, requiring about 110 concrete truks.

The final pour is anticipated to take place on Wednesday, Aug. 14. More information will be published early next week.
